To process Utility Connect services
In order to process any of the services (each a “Service” and collectively our "Services") that we offer at https://www.Utilityconnect.net or technology "powered by Utility Connect" available on third party websites (collectively, the "Site"), we may need to share your personal information with third parties. In such situations, we may share only such personal information as is necessary to complete the requested Service(s). For example, if you request a consultation with a company, we will share your applicable personal information with such company so that they may contact you; or if you instruct us to send a change of address notification to the USPS, we will share your applicable information with the USPS so that they may process your requested address change.
With your explicit consent
We may share your personal information that you provide on the Site to certain third parties if you instruct us to share your information, or if you consent to the sharing of your personal information via opt-in.
For external processing
We may provide your personal information to our affiliates or other trusted businesses or persons to process certain services, such as filing USPS Change of Address Forms. For aggregate and anonymous data
We may share aggregated, non-personally identifiable information publicly and with our partners (“De-identifiable Data”). For example, we may share information publicly to show moving trends and other information about relocating consumers.
We may share anonymized data (“Anonymous Data”) about your relocation with certain partners to facilitate delivering personalized experiences throughout your move. For example, we may share information relating to old or new address with third party intermediaries who can confirm which products and services are relevant for your address, or the products and services to which you currently subscribe.
Any User who does not want Utility Connect to use his or her personal information in either De-identifiable Data, Anonymous Data sets, whether such data sets are shared publicly or not, may email info@Utilityconnect.net to opt-out any time.
With the business hosting Utility Connect technology
Utility Connect technology may be made available on third party websites. In all such situations, the Services offered are clearly marked "powered by Utility Connect". When Utility Connect technology is powering websites other than UtilityConnect.net or a subdomain with-in www.Utilityconnect.net, then we may need to share your personal information with the applicable third party that owns and operates the applicable website hosting the Utility Connect technology (the “Hosting Business”). If you create a User account via Utility Connect technology hosted on a third-party site, then Utility Connect may share your personally-identifiable information with the Hosting Business. In such situations, the Hosting Business will be encouraged to protect your personal information pursuant to their privacy policy.
With the business or individual that invited you to Utility Connect
You may be invited to use a personalized and custom version of Utility Connect by a third party with whom you have a relationship, such as a mortgage company, a title insurance company, a property manager, a real estate brokerage, a moving company, etc. (each an Utility Connect “Client”). If you create a User account on a version of Utility Connect provided by a Client, then Utility Connect may share your personally identifiable information with the Client(s) that provided your information for purposes of generating your invitation to Utility Connect. In such situations, Client(s) will be encouraged to protect your personal information pursuant to their privacy policy.
With third parties in connection with certain corporate transactions
If we sell all or part of our business, make a transfer of assets, or are otherwise involved in a change of control transaction, or in the unlikely event of bankruptcy, we may transfer information from or about you to one or more third parties as part of the transaction.
Information We Collect
We collect certain information from all visitors to our site, regardless of whether they sign up for a Utility Connect user account or order one of our Services. Beyond this baseline level of collected information, we collect and store additional information from visitors who sign up for a Utility Connect user account ("Users"). We also collect certain information about you from our partners (“Partner-Provided Information”). We collect several types of information from you including information:
By which you may be personally identified, such as name, postal address, e-mail address, telephone number, social security number or any other identifier by which you may be contacted online or offline ("personal information"); and/or
That is about you but individually does not identify you.
Information We Collect From Partners
The information that we collect from our partners may include your first and last name, email address, your old and/or new postal address, your phone number, certain dates related to your relocation process (such as the date of your lease signing or closing), etc.
Information We Collect From All Visitors
For all users of the site, the site's web server uses an extended log file format which captures: date and time of visit, referring address (location from which a visitor comes to the Site), type of Internet browser, and visitor's IP address. (Each computer that connects to the Internet is assigned a unique number, an IP address, for identification purposes). The log file does not capture a user's email address.
A cookie is a series of data characters that, when programmed into a website, is placed by the web server into the browser's application folder on your computer.
