What a branded page does, and what it does not start

A branded page is a door with your name on it. The client enters the address and reaches a call with Utility Connect. On that call we set up internet, TV, satellite, phone, home security, insurance, home warranty, and movers, and electricity in a deregulated market. We also send the gas, water, trash, and regulated-electric information, and the client enrolls in those. The page is not a switch that starts the local utilities. Submitting the address is not a water account.

What the page is for

It carries your brand into the week after the appointment, when the client is no longer in front of you. The sentence at the top matters more than the layout. If the headline says "we'll connect your utilities" and a footnote mentions enrollment, people remember the headline. Write the headline as the split: we set up the other home services on the call, and you enroll the local utilities from the information we send.

The form should ask for the service address, the unit, the possession date, and how to reach them. It should not ask for a Social Security number or a deposit card. Those belong on a local utility's own line, typed by the client, or on the call for a service we are setting up, given to that provider with the client present.

What happens after they submit

  • We reach them and set up the services they choose that we can set up
  • We send the local-utility information: names, numbers, how to enroll
  • They contact gas, water, trash, and regulated electric and open those accounts
  • Confirmations for the call come from those providers
  • Confirmations for the local utilities come from those utilities, to the client

Honest statuses are "call done" and "local info sent." There is no honest status called "water connected" on our side. Do not build that status in your CRM. It will be checked by someone who wants the board to look finished.

Copy to refuse

Refuse "one click and the city is done." Refuse "we open every account." Refuse a timer that implies a municipal truck is booked because they submitted a form. You can say the call is free for the household. You can say the other services are set up with them. You should not invent a savings amount. Rates are confirmed when the service is set up or when they enroll.

When a client calls you because they thought the form opened the water, send them back to the local-utility email and tell them the next step is their enrollment. Then fix the sentence that led them to call.

Common questions

Can the page skip the explanation?

It can collect an address, and it still needs the split beside the button. A bare form looks like checkout. This is a call plus a local enrollment list.

Will local utilities call them automatically?

No. Submitting the page starts our process. It is not an application to the water district. They enroll with the water district after we send the information.

How do we get one?

Start at partnership. Bring the sentences your team uses, as long as those sentences do not say you connect the local utilities. The training version is what partners should say.
