Moving in
Internet and TV are set up with you on the call, once we know which networks actually reach the address.
Internet and TV are set up on the call with Utility Connect. They are not local utilities, and they are not left in an email for you to finish alone. We find which networks actually reach the address, walk the plans with you, and complete the setup while you are on the phone, including a technician window when the provider requires one. Gas, water, trash, and regulated electric stay in the information we send. You enroll in those yourself.
Cable, fiber, fixed wireless, and satellite are different kinds of availability. A zip-code checker on a national homepage will say yes to a building that cannot actually take that drop on your floor. We check the premise, not the billboard. If a building has a bulk agreement, we need to know whether it is included, optional, or mandatory before a second plan gets set up. Tell us what the lease says. A plan the building will not allow is not a favor.
TV and cable are often on the same wire and often optional. You can take internet without a channel package. Streaming accounts move with you once the connection is up. Say what you want on the call. A two-year bundle you did not mean to accept is harder to undo than a question you ask before we set it up.
You are on the call for that choice. We do not pick a plan after you leave and hope the appointment works. If the only windows are a week after move-in, we will say so and look at another provider that reaches the address before anything is finalized. A slightly different monthly rate with a kit you can use on day one is sometimes the better first week. That is your decision, made out loud.
Satellite and home phone, when you want them, are set up the same way: on the call, after you agree. Return rented modems to the old provider on their terms and keep the receipt. Your new setup does not close the old account. If you own a router, ask on the call whether it will work before you rely on it.
It is not a substitute for enrolling water, gas, trash, or regulated electric. Those providers have to speak with you, and we send you their information so you can do that. A confirmation for internet does not mean the city has you in their system. Keep both sets of proof.
It is also not a promise that a technician will ignore a missed window. If you book a visit on the call, someone has to be there. Gate codes and elevator rules need to be given then, not left with an agent who is not on the work order.
You can, and you will be shopping the same address without the premise check we already do. If you want it set up, stay on the call and choose a plan. If you truly want to decline, say so.
We will recheck the premise with you. Marketing pages over-include. If a provider can serve the unit, we can set that service up on the call. We will not set up a plan for an address they cannot install.
The appointment is chosen on the call, with you, as part of the setup. A text the next day is a change to an order that already exists, and the provider has to accept it. Do not assume a text moved the truck.
How electricity differs, market by market, is in electric service when you move.
